Experience the Groove of Wiil Power

My musical journey began at the age of eight when I joined the Giese Elementary School music program. My mom rented a flute for me and I fell in love with music. I studied with the great Curt Hanrahan for many years and it was a lot of work. Scales, arpeggios, and hours of practice. Curt taught me discipline for the art. If my lesson wasn’t satisfactory, we didn’t turn the page. We would play duets together and it was beautiful. I learned to appreciate classical music even at a young age. Bach was my favorite. I continued to study throughout high school and dreamed of attending the Juliard School of Music in New York and one day playing in the symphony and teaching music.

My life took a different path. I married, started a family and my own business.

It wasn’t until Karaoke came about. I was singing one night, and a guy approached me and asked if I would be interested in jamming with his garage band. The rest is history. I’ve been in different bands on and off for the last 25 years, but WIIL Power is my favorite. We’re having a great time trying our best to bring a great show. We have made a lot of progress.
